correct thermostat rating for t1

Jan 24, 2007 6 Replies

Hi,

I got 2 thermostats, and to my surprise they have different specs one is 65-75 and second one something around ~80 can't quite recall. Which one is the right one for type 1. I am in Nor cal, it does get toasty here around 110 for a few weeks or a month a year, never snows but we do see occasional temp drops to 0 in the winter.

Thanks, Anton

the higher temp thermostat were introduced in the later model fuel injected models.

Hi Joey,

Does that mean that I should stay away from the later one on my 64? I suppose the only downside is that flaps will be open till she really warms up...

the higher temp thermostat will remain closed until the higher temperature is reached....

Thanks Joey. I guess I will stick to the lower one then.
