Hi, Will a stock type I engine run without fuel pressure? Is pressure required to force the fuel into the carb or will run for a short while on just what is in the float tank if the pump is taken "off line" ?

my stock 1600dp would idle for about a minute and a half to two minutes with the fuel line disconnected...(had to get gas for the lawnmower from somewhere...LOL) J
Guess I answered my question. I put a new fuel pump and the thing runs now.
