wing windows are great !! i vote to leave them in. may not be the coolest car at the car show, but they are extremely functional.

just my opinion

Just so you know.. going BACK after this mod is very difficult. New doors or very tiny hands and miniscule welder to reach the area inside the door you have to weld back together.

negative effects of one piece windows:

-rock, rattle and roll (must have at least the two-support elevator mechanism that was only used for a couple of years, 1967 onwards)

-uneven movement

-poor sealing (Door will slowly start bulging out from the middle when the internal support is gone, even the best of seals can't follow that.. and the seals that are available are crap)

-as a result of the above, door will rust out much faster

-pretty much irreversible

Positive sides?

-looks cool to some people (no, not all)

-no easy vent window entrance for car thieves or burglars

-better view of the side view mirror

-possibly less wind noise if you can get the seals to work

I did this, and knowing what I now know, I won't do it again.

i agree.... don't do it.

Unless the doors are pretty much junk anyway. Dont ruin a good set of doors. go to the junkyard and get some not so good ones - mod away.

that way you will have your good doors when you are sick of the one piece windows.
