Done just under 300mile running engine in , Twin Dellorto 40's sound awsome !

Been noticing about someone with engine getting hot ?

Would doing this open deck lid a couple inches work on any bug ?

mines a 1964 (semi - w ) so no extra louvres , i've got a 1776cc with full-flow BUT with an external cooler sat above the gearbox aswell.... Just want to make sure i'm getting enought air in. Is there a point of engine size of " x cc engine = stand offs " ? im not keen on stand offs as it will make the car have a "drag 'shute "

Thanks

John

When VW introduced the twin port engines they started to put louvres in the deck lids, no doubt for operating in hot climates. You could always get a louvered deck lid if you don't like standoffs - mine cost £5! I would make sure all the tin wear is in place and no heat is rising into the engine bay through holes. Also check your spark plugs to see that you're not running lean.
