I try to pay for my hobbies with an extra job. I just got a new part time job which will pay more money but means less time to spend on my hobbies.
How do you pay for your hobbies? Do you consider your VW activities a hobby?
Thanks, Dan

The VW is a hobby for me, but never have any money for it. Some of the vintage guys with hobby cash spend more money on a couple of parts than my whole car is worth. Just curious, what type of part time job did you get.

Should be fun and it will be different than my day job so that's good.

I drove my bug to work again today. When I take it offroad and break it I tell my wife "Well, looks like I gotta fix the bug so I can get to work!" If your hobby is your daily driver then it makes it easier to justify spending $ on it. ;-) Of course, when your hobby is your daily driver it also makes it a little harder to justify taking it offroad and breaking it. Which is why so many of my "offroad adventures" begin by me leaving the house while my wife is in the shower. ;-)

Hehehe me too. Sometimes I see restos in which only the apron work is more expensive than my whole bug. In fact I am doing an slow-low-budget resto-modification of my bug, but always with spare money, therefore in August I'm replacing the steering-gear for a 2nd hand one, in September I'll change the front fenders, and so on...... Yes it's a hobby, and a difficult one sine I don't have anyother car and I try to keep the bug always in drivable condition.
