I've heard a lot from many sources about how much better external oilcoolers are on VW engines. Then there's Gene Berg, who says that based onextensive testing, no practical external oil cooling setup does a better jobthan the stock setup, especially using the later doghouse design. Assuming the Berg is discussing a standard street driven acvw with the dog house, he is most probably correct.
