Oil in Carb - stinky

Feb 13, 2005 2 Replies

I have this problem where I have alot of oil ending up in my carb. I have a type IV engine from a 1973 transporter in my ghia. Unsure if it has anything to do with the breather box or some type of seal leak in the engine, but it creates a nasty burning oil smell that makes it into the passenger compartment. There is no visible smoke however. Any suggestions anyone?

how are the pushrod tube seals and the heater exchangers?

Heater boxes are not connected to passenger compartment. Passenger compartment tubes are blocked off. Pushrod tube seals are new ( 1 year ) on the passenger side. Not sure about drivers' side. Bottom of engine is covered oil.
