OT Some good service for a change.

Not VW related but we bought a new 2004 Hyundai Sonata in November of

2003. It has been a good car but a headlight burned out. We took it back to the dealer mainly because you have to take a massive amout of crap off to get to the headlight bulb to replace it. I was surprised that the bulb change was covered under warranty. Try taking your General Motors car into the dealer and see if they would do that. After they stopped laughing, they would charge you $50 for a bulb change. I heard that on the New Beetle, you practically have an advanced engineering degree to figure out how to change one of the side marker bulbs.

I have a freind with an 02 or 03 Santa Fe which called for a timing belt change at 60k. He didn't change the belt and around 70k when the water pump froze (dealer diagnosed what caused the breakage) the timing belt broke and I think we all know what damage that can cause!! The dealer refused to fix anything except replace the waterpump and get this, after he had the engine repaired because he didn't replace a belt which only broke because of another faulty component!! Due to a messy divorce in progress he didn't have the funds to sue the losers but luckily his Dad owns a machine shop so they repaired the damage for something around $1500. To top it all off when he went to the dealer asking for the new waterpump so he could install it before dropping the motor back in they refused to hand it over! He had to install the motor and tow it down to the dealer to have it installed!! How's that customer service for ya?

GM cars and we have had one headlight

warranty. As for the NB the side marker lights

follow the Bentley.

Do they have LED type replacements for headlamps yet? I was thinking it might be interesting to go with LED bulbs for the taillights on my bug but maybe they'd be good for headlamps as well.

I have a toyota corolla from 2003. Last week i changed the head bulb for the

4th(!!!) time. Also had to change a indicator and licenseplate bulb the last 3 years.

Since the Toyota factories are outside of Japan those car's aren't what they used to be. Now they are build in England, heck if i wanted an english car i would have tried to keep Rover on the marked! Makes me wonder what my next car will be...
