Oyster shooters! Who else loves 'em? Put an oyster in a shot glass, cover it with your favorite hot sauce, shoot it, chase it with an icy cold beverage. Nice snack on a rainy day. :-)

What is that Colt 45 Malt Liquor? Beer? If so, I bet it is not good beer.
Don't you eat anything normal there Shag? Like vegetables?
I love vegetables! Especially bacon and fried chicken. They're my favorite vegetables. I eat normal stuff. I made a cheeseburger for breakfast this morning. Can y'all tell my wife's out of town for a couple of days? ;-) I'm also making soup today. Potatoes, onions, garlic, bacon, cheese, heavy cream. Those are the main ingredients. It's in the crock pot right now finishing up and man does it ever smell good. I fried 12 oz of bacon, then drained 90% of the bacon grease off of it and crushed it up. Diced about 7 potatoes and one big onion. Put the potatoes, onions, garlic, bacon in the crock pot with 6 cups of water and a couple of chicken bouillon cubes and let it cook a couple of hours. Then added a ton of velveeta cheese and a pint of heavy cream. It'll be ready to eat in another hour or so. A meal fit for a king. Or even for me. :-)
How about that Colt 45 thing? What is it?

Sounds great. I'll take it with a cold coke though.
HHmm, you could skip the Oyster, would taste the same, whilst still leave you with an excuse for the cold beverage. :o]

Beer over a certain alcohol level has to be labelled Malt Liquor, might vary between the different states though.

Spinach pancakes with lingonberries. Hard rye bread with butter and cream cheese. Beer.
I bet you would not settle for these ;)
Mm, this actually sounds really good!
And I hear you on the vegetables :)
Making soup later myself, using the meat off a couple of pork chops, sliced, diced potatoes, sliced carrots, sliced fresh chillies(red and green), sliced leek and "cheater" soup stock from beef bouillon cubes and water. That is, if I don't finish my beers first and loose interest in food.. Mmm, got a three liter box of red wine as well... No wife away, just single 8=P

Sounds dangerously healthy!

What? No codfish (torsk)? I thought it was all Norwegians eat ;)
I do not eat fish. Not to keen on seafood in general. Small shrimps, crayfish, saltwater crayfish, small lobsters, small crab?(Krabbe), tuna if it not to strong on flavor are exceptions.

Ok guys, it all sounds good except the oysters which reminds me of flem and an involuntary reflex causes them to be spat out takes over. Anyway we are , making enchaladea's with all the fixin's for today and to celebrate the Green Bay Packer game and whoever else they are playing. All is good. Dennis
The spinach pancakes look awesome (spinach being my favorite food), how about sharing the recipe? Not that fond of lingonberries though, I would use sour cream :-)
blood pancakes... rowrrr... haven't had those in years :D spinach pancakes just reminded me of them.
Jan
The ones on the plate are bought ready from store (made by Saarioinen, Jan probably knows the stuff). But below one recipe to make those, yourself.
1/2 liter milk 2 eggs 3 dl wheat flour 1 tea spoon of salt 150 g of frozen spinach 1 table spoon of oil / vegetable oilBreak the eggs to a bowl and break the structure of the eggs with a whisk. Add the milk. Mix in the flour, salt and the thawn spinach. Let the mixture stand for 15 minutes to swell. Mix again thoroughly.
Heat up a frying pan or a pan-cake pan. Put a bit of butter to the pan and pour a thin layer of the mixture to the pan. Fry from both sides like normal pan-cakes.
Serve with lingonberries or whatever you like.
Some recipes add a teaspoon of sugar and a hint of white pepper to the mixture. Have not tried. Also you could substitute part of the wheat flour with for example graham flour or barley flour.
The blood pan cakes are also very good as Jan stated. Even better self made. Multiple recipes for that also. Ofcourse one part is blood.
Thanks, looks like an easy recipe. I am more of a salty than sweet person. I would modify the recipe slightly and put some finely chopped onions in so they were kind of like latkas (potato pancakes) and top with sour cream. A great companion to eggs and sausage.
Tell me about the beer! I'm trying Leinenkugel's BIG BUTT doublebock tonight and while it's tasty and smooth, it's a far cry from my favorite German doublebock Tucher Bajuvator. Those suckers will hurt you! Andy
