Yes. As the oil temp increases, the contact arm on the Berg dipstick moves clockwise until it completes the electrical contact. The vibration of the running engine causes the electrical contact on the Berg dipstick to be somewhat intermittant. As the temp rises more pressure is applied, making the contact more continuous and the warning light gets more "insistant". I have driven in very hot conditions by "riding the light"; adjusting speed to keep the light just barely detectable.
Berg actually makes two variations of the dipstick; the one that goes in the type-1 dipstick location and another that fits in the type-3 dipstick spot (in a block-off plate). Here's the shorty:
