I drained the fluid and put the old stuff back in, works like a charm. Weird.

If you want to put some new in it, try Amsoil gear lube 75w 90. I got it in my bug and love it.

.................I've got the same stuff from the same place in my '77. That bug shifts as smooth as silk in below zero conditions........great stuff.
