Thanks all for your sincere concerns. I don't think you'll find such warmth on many other newsgroups and it is appreciated.
I had a AAA (aorta) open repair about 7 weeks ago. I saw the surgeon the other day for a follow-up and he was very pleased with the progress and rate of recovery.
I've been up and about for some weeks and can even walk the neighborhood for exercise.
But full recovery from this takes another 6 months or so to get strength back.
Most days I simply don't feel up to writing messages (brain fog) so I've stayed away from RAMVA and e-mail chores. Maybe in another month......
