I have a 1954 bug with a built 1776. I recently had to remove my 44idf's for rebuild and temporary replace with single Solex. I replaced all intake gaskets and rubber fittings and still has vacum leak that I can find and will not idle. Any Ideas?

Dual port w/metal gaskets? They often don't seal properly. I use a bit of sealant on them when installing.
You can test for leaks by spraying a solvent near suspected areas while idling. Or use a propane torch (NOT lit!).
