I think that may be Alfa 33 and the Sprint Veloce and the AfaSud but not sure. They work nice on a Beetle but they are very expensive.

They are a bit different from the IDF40 that are sold for the bug (which are sold with a 28mm venturi). The main differences are that the idle jet is removed from the top of the carb (easier changing of idle jets) and they do not have the bypass screws, but have manifold vacum ports that can be used for synchronising the idle circuit of the carbs with a vacum gauge.

The throttle arms are different from the IDF40/44/48 sold for beetles, so you cannot dirrectly use an aftermarket VW likage. If you can find a pair for free or very cheap, it's worth to try to use them if you can fabricate your own linkage.

yes, this is alfa 33. alfa 33 1700 i think. in PL two dellorto drla or weber idf carbs you can buy for about 100-150$ (i have bough 2 weber idf 40 for 75$ - they are in very nice condition, i just have to fit them to the bug engine)

Would you try to find me a pair of 45 or 48mm Dellorto DRLA or Weber IDF?

The 1700 are hard to find (I think) most of the Alfa 33 here are 1300 and 1500

alfa sprint and 33 use 36 or 40 DRLA of IDF with no differences. they need to be modified also in the filter top screws (3 instead of usual 4) linkage is adaptable for aftermarket linkage, but need a little of work need also the emulsion tube change, often this costs like the used carb. venturi are 28 for 1300 30 for 1500 32 for 1700 (there are with no difference some 36 with 32 venturies. no 45 or 48 in stock 33 or sprints

however due to recent laws agaist pollution these cars have been almost all wrecked. in italian scrapyard are relatively rare. Peppe

Has anyone seen an IDF with the choke system intact? Seems to me to be an application waiting to happen.
