Pardon my complete ignorance but reading the manual of my V70 ym2005 it appears that 98 octane fuel can be used in the 2.5T engine without any special modification. On my old Opel, there was a little switch somewhere in the engine that needed to be in the correct position for the selected fuel.
What is the advantage of higher octane ? I am using standard lead-free
95-octane and my local Shell shop encourages me to switch to their Shell V-power. Snake oil ?
