Experience with MacKay heater hose of Australia

Sep 29, 2003 2 Replies

Looking to replace the heater hose on my 92 745T. The factory parts are priced out of this world.

Found hoses by MacKay - an Australian company. They look to be a really good mfg. - ISO9002 and all.

Anyone have any good/ bad experiences with this brand?

Thanks Andrew in AL

Why don't you get generic heater hose from a local parts place and cut it to fit? It's available in a number of diameters; just measure what's on your car and get a piece a foot longer than you need. Pick up a pair of new smooth-inside hose clamps, too.

Or, do you mean radiator hose instead of heater hose?

No - I mean heater hose.

I know that I can just use plain heater hose. I am just a bit paranoid about the cooling system on the Volvo - as I had an overheating problem - and I want to get as close to factory as I can. There is a lot of heat from this motor, and I want the hose to stand up as long as it can.

From what I have seen of MacKay - they are an OEM supplier for Ford and others. Figured it had to be a bit better than the standard heater hose from Auto Zone.

Thanks for the reply Andy Smith
