Independant Volvo Servicing - Midlands, UK

Sep 13, 2005 8 Replies

I am looking for an independent Service Centre in the Midlands that specialises in Volvos.

As a family we currently have three Volvos all getting on a bit now. 1987

340, 1989 740 and a 1997 V70. Both the 740 and V70 have always been serviced by Volvo but it is really getting too expensive especially given the advancing years of the cars.

Do any of the UK contributors know of an independent specialist who can service our Volvo's at a decent rate (compared to Volvo).

We live in Leamington Spa in Warwickshire.

Mant thanks

Andy

Hi Andy,

I've continued having my (1999 - 2000MY) V70 serviced by Avonvale in Stratford. They seem to have retained their Volvo expertise and tools - even though they are now a Honda dealer. My guess is that they're probably a bit cheaper than places like Tollbar - but maybe not dramatically so. At least, I'm on their deal which does the MOT for free for life when it's done with an annual service.

Hi Andy, I can recommend C.P. Motors. They are at Pooley Lane, Polesworth, Nr. Tamworth, Staffs. This is not far from junction 10 M42. Their website has a map for directions. 'Phone is 01827 894983 website is

and they can be e-mailed using snipped-for-privacy@cpmotors-volvo.co.uk The blurb on their card says "New and used spares in stock, Repairs and Servicing, Volvos for sale." They also have a catalogue on-line detailing the various parts they have in stock. Have been to them in person a couple of times now and have always been able to obtain what I wanted. They advertise in the VOC magazine, "Driver".All the best, Peter.

I have used CP motors for s/h parts but wasn't aware they also did servicing. They are 40 miles away but will bear them in mind.

Just a bit too far away for me but thanks anyway.

I have been using Avonvale Honda in Coventry and like Stratford, they still have the Volvo tools left over from their Warwick Volvo dealership before Ford Raped all the smaller dealers in the name of service. Don't get a Free MOT with annual service though, I get squished for 25 squids.

They still have an ex Volvo techi called Nigel Beasley who knows the older Volvo's inside out. Not so sure the Honda guys know the Volvo's all that well though.

I think its time to ring around and get some indicative prices.

Many thanks everybody for your offerings.

Andy
