Persistent PO740 Code on 1997 960

Apr 12, 2007 1 Replies

After driving on the highway for some time above 55mph(80km/h) the up- arrow on my dashboard will suddenly begin to flash; at the same time, the drive mode selector lights on the gear goes berserk. The gear shifts fine without any problem. I got the car scanned at a local workshop and it came with error code PO740.

Any suggestions on what the problem could be?

P0740 indicates torque convertor lockup malfunction. This means the lockup clutch inside the torque convertor is slipping - I would suggest a complete transmission fluid flush if it is not pink like it should be.
