Drove a V70 on 18 inch rims with rubber bands called tyres ( tires ), There were small lumps on the inside of the rims where the wheel is not supported . Maybe out of round rim as the tires tyres offer little absorption on rough roads . Or the suspension is a problem needs new bushes as well maybe . I think one decent pothole would ruin the alignment with those rubber bands on . Besides the Police would take note no doubt even if they were legal as they are . Here in Australia the tyres of rims can vary by 2 inches so 16 17 18 are ok as long as the rolling radius is the same .
