have an volvo 1995 850 2.5 cd auto car, got the radio code, i understood that you could turn on/off the code,
the radio is a sc 801 premium sound system with multi cd player, the hb says that the led in radio flashes when ign key is removed, mine does not, so i thought the code was turned off, seems i cannot find if this is correct, or the led is faulty.
the hb only says you enter the code if the battery or radio is removed.
any help would be welcome.

If the battery was disconnected or the radio loses power then the display will show code just enter the code if correct the radio will show on & display a preset station
but why no led?
My radio is wired to the ignition power side, so I can only turn the radio on when the ignition key is on. Maybe someone has rewired yours to be permanently live? and so the red led wouldn't come on....does the radio turn on with the ignition off?
