V70 "Reduced Performance"

Jan 08, 2006 1 Replies

Hi,

about 3 or 4 times lately the message "Reduced Performance" (or is it "Performance Reduced"?) has popped up on the info centre on my late 2000 V70

2.4T (c 57K miles) accompanied by - surprise, surprise - reduced performance!

This seems to happen at very low speed (thankfully) and a couple of times the engine has actually stalled. When switched off and restarted, everything seems OK again. I'm a bit worried now as it happened on start up the other day first thing in the garage. It did start, though it took 3 attempts to lose the message.

Does anyone have any experience of this or ideas as to cause or do I need to get it diagnosed by a Volvo specialist?

Thanks, martinr

Return to the Volvo dealer & advise them of this message it seems like the Electronic Throttle Module is on the way out Glenn
