Volvo 245 -83

Hi I just got an old -83 245. The oilpressure lamp is not working. I have checked the pressure-switch on the engineblock, it seems that the lampis blown!

What is the easiest procedure for replacing the lamps in the instrument-panel?

You need to remove the knobs for the headlight switch and panel dimmer, then pop off the panel behind it. Then remove the 2 panels on the opposite side (may be blank squares or gauge surrounds). Remove the 4 screws and pull the cluster out. You may need to reach from below to remove the speedometer cable first though. Turn the plastic nut on the end of the cable a quarter turn. Make note of where any single wires go so you can put them back in the same place!

I can remove the panel above the driver's knees and reach up from below to get at the lamps, you need small flexible hands to do it that way though.

I also wouldn't recommend doing it that way for the first time. It's one thing when you've done it a few times and know what you're grabbing and which way to turn.
