Dear vw folks,
I have a couple of questions regarding my 2000 jetta. Your comments will be greatly appreciated!
- brake light: I have my rear brake light gone, so I tried to get a new one from local kragen store to install it myself. However, they said 00 jetta is relatively a new model, so I have to go and get a new light from vw dealer. Is it true? If not, where can i get one?
- check engine light + smog test: I have check engine light on since several months ago, but I've been running it thousands miles without inspection. Since I am having a normal gas milage, I just assumed it is a sensor problem which I believed I don't need to pay attention to. However, the problem is smog test. I heard I can't go through smog test if i have an engine light on. Is there any way that I can temporarily turn the check engine light off? I know it is not the right way, but I really don't want to be bothered by that check engine light...
I truly appreciate your comments in advance. Have a nice day!
JK
