FWIW, in my area, dealers are asking (and evidently getting) a 2-large premium over list for TDIs.

Also, FWIW, I owned a 2001 1.8 turbo Jetta. My new '06 2.5 is a much better car (the '01 was not bad). Steering and suspension are much better. The Tiptronic 6 is very smooth; I just leave it in D. I have never driven an auto this good, and am actually glad I did not get the manual. The looks of the Jetta are different, and takes some time getting used to, but for what it is I cannot imagine a better car out there.
