95 Jetta cruise control question

Jun 13, 2006 3 Replies

Greetings VW Gurus,

Still getting the bugs out of this non-bug........cruise control worked when I got ot a month ago....doesn't work now.....it was suggested I check the fuse, makes sense, 'ceptin the manual does not indicate a fuse for the cruise control. Anybody know where it might be (if there is one!). Thanks very much.

Another place to check are the switched on the clutch and/or brake pedal that disengage the cruise if either is pressed. I believe you can just unplug and jumper to test (or you could on my 95 Passat)

There's a pretty good troubleshooting guide in the maintenance FAQs for the A3s on vwvortex.com. If you can't find it, let us know and I'll refind it and post a link.

If it's the module, I found a company on eBay that rebuilds 'em. You send in your core, they send you a 'fixed' unit. The first one they sent me was bad, but the second (my original, fixed) has been working for about 6 months now.
