I am thinking of buying a '96 Passat. It has 85,000 miles. Do any of you know of any potential problems with this model. what was the problem? and how much did it cost to get it fixed. any help and advise would be appreciated!!! Thanks
You're kinda asking a question like when will the world end! Generally Passat are good cars but that depends on "IF" the former owner kept up with service and repairs. Find out if he has any repair invoices for the time he owned the car. If he has a pile then the owner spent $$$ to keep the car going, otherwise it was either a very good car or he spent no $$$ on repairs and service. Bottom line"all cars cost money to keep going"!
