A few questions

Hello all,

new to this forum but not to VW. Have owned several H2O cooled VWs since Scirocco in 1977 (and air cooled ones before that). Just took delivery of

2006 GTI 1.8T and find it differs in many regards from my old 1998 GTI VR6... hope folks here might have some [ helpful ;-) ] suggestions for me.

I want to find some way of covering the steering wheel. The aftermarket wheel covers I have found fit the wheel diameter, but the wheel bar is too fat for the covers... even the extra-wide ones I've found won't cover leaving gap inside.

I want to protect the leather seats too, but the airbags in the seat backs preclude conventional seat covers.

And my foot seems to want to scrape the area just inside the door jam entering/exiting the car. Can't locate any VW or aftermarket covers for this area either. The VW foil trim piece does not cover the area I want to protect.

Suggestions?

Thanks,

It appears their seat covers will accomodate seat-deployed airbags.

Hi matt,

Thanks, I had seen this brand before, but didn't think they fit GTIs newer than 2004. I'll double check them.

okole means "butt" in Hawaiian... "wet butt" brand.

Thanks again,
