Brake job killed OEM radio in 97 Jetta VRX

Hi all:

We had new f&r liners, rotors machined, r-struts installed, and a r-axel straightened on a 97 Jetta.

When we picked it up the radio was dead. No juice, no dispaly, no 'safe mode.' Just dead. The fuse is fine.

The shop states that all they did was charge the battery. It was in the shop overnite and when they came in the next morning, the battery was down. So they charged it. That's it, they say.

What could have happened?

Thanks!

Jon

Yeah, if my theory is correct, it's just a normal blade fuse stuck into the back of the deck.

Pull the deck and check that one....

Before you do that, make sure that you've tried any sort of 'reset' butt> Can I replace an internal fuse if I pull the radio?

I have seen one radio that was dead for reasons unknown. Pulling the fuse in the fuse box did not reset it. I pulled the radio out, unplugged it and plugged it back in and got power. weird!!! Then of course entered the code and all was well again.

good luck!
