.Dead remote key battery

I was wondering if there is a known problem with the remote on a 06 Jetta. My wife's went dead about 2 month ago and the dealer replaced under warranty and now it is dead again. My remote battery has also died this week. We have had the car since the end of July of 05. I have never had a problem with the remote on any of the other VW cars I have owned which leads me to believe there is a manufacturing problem in them.

The replacement batteries were probably past their intended lifespans. This can happen if the dealer fails to keep his/her battery stock up to date.

Is there any chance that something in a pocket or purse is pushing and/or holding the buttons down when you don't intend them to be? doug

I can't see that being the problem as my last 3 VW's never had a problem and I had them for 4 yrs. each and never replaced a battery in any of the remote's. I will have to contact the dealer and see what he says. Thanks Abe
