does a distributor from a 2.0l fit a 1.8l.? they are both 16v but my dist. leaks oil badly. i know someone who has one from a 2.0l but he doesn't know if it fits. k

Yes they do fit and work even though their numbers are different. I have run either in my 91 Passat 16V 2.0 engine. Read here about changing that leaky seal.
