It's nearly time to replace the pads and rotors on my 81 Rabbit Convertible. I've got solid rotors and I believe that they are 9.4". I've still got 13 inch VW rims. Is there any simple upgrade that I can do. Will vented rotors and the applicable pads fit? Would I see any big performance increase with vented rotors? Would 11" rotors fit in the 13 inch wheels? would I need new calipers? What do you guys recommend?

The 10.1 and 11 inch rotors will not fit with the 13" wheels (well at least my 13" dodge omni steel snow tire rims just barely fit over my 9.4 calipers). I'm told the 10.1's will work with my 14" teardrops and that will probably be my next upgrade. I have vented and slotted ate rotors with metalmaster pads that I like. Some people don't like the metalmasters when they're cold but mine don't seem to be too bad. Definitely good hot.
