Have You Folks Read This?

i think that the dealer KNOWS you have a problem but doesn't know how to fix it and doesn't want to admit it, and to keep their credibility it just says what was said to you =(

not really your case but i heard of that only ONE servicer in the USA has the training to work on/fix some top-notch BMW cars... maybe that's your case and you need to find that one man =/

In the meantime, it has gone out of warranty....

I should HOPE not! I wonder how many W8s ended up being sold here? The fact that it was discontinued doesn't help as far as training goes, I'm sure.

you're kidding? the problem started while the car was under warranty and they played you so no warranty anymore?!

the next thing is probably that they will somehow manage to "fix" your car, that is, change the whole gearbox which is everything but cheap!

uuhh! i thought that kind of stuff only happened around here =(

AFAIK the passat W8 is still available for sale in europe...

Unfortunately, I am not kidding. In the meantime, I have gotten a Prius. I feel like a traitor to my W8--and to VW. But is VW is going to be like that, I am never going to buy one again.

I thought it had been totally discontinued. I'll have to look into that.

Sorry for the late response.
