Help with 99 Passat ! Misfiring no spark on _ONE_ cylinder

need some serious help this has got me stumped and the other 2 techs at my shop.

99 Passat, with 1.8 turbo, and the s*1t coil on plugs. got a misfire on cylinder 2 the plug was gas fouled and no spark, changed the plugs and checked for power and ground to the coil, it tested good... switch coil 1 to cylinder 2, still no spark on cylinder 2, the #2 coil will spark on #1... what drives these coils? is this an ECU problem or a crank sensor problem.

It's the power module mounted on top of the aircleaner assembly. Price is in the $380 ball park. I sure hope you don't work at a dealer if you can't figure it out. Wanna paypal me a few $$$ for consult fee?
