Your best bet is to have the injectors rebuilt at a Bosch service center. IDI injectors are $40/ea to rebuild with new nozzles, TDI is probably a bit more.
A stopgap solution is to run some Lubro Moly Diesel Purge. You unhook the supply and return lines for your injection pump and run the stuff straight from the can.
The poor man's solution is to empty (or replace) the fuel filter and fill it with ATF (Auto Trans Fluid).
