Jetta body trim

Hi

I have a 98 Jetta

What is the best glue/adhesive to use for trim/mouldings on the doors.

Thanks

Antonio,

I experimented with several things that had the advantage of being around the house before doing this right.

Any body shop supplier in the yellow pages and a few well stocked pep boys type places have double sided tape specificly for this purpose. It is made by 3M and will put you back like $20 but nothing else works.

Various flavors of glue are all useless - painted metal is not a good surface and the expansion/contraction of metal vs. the plastic makes it a tricky engineering problem.

I used "Liquid Nails" on my '96 Golf. It was the only glue that would hold up in the Florida heat. Works for me.

I prefer using real nails.

PS - I'm gonna buy some of the clip on ones and hope that finally fixes it...
