Where is the best place to find out part numbers for our cars? Especially for a 1997 VW Golf K2, 1.8l, 8v. Is the part numbers different for different countries? I'm from Canada.

Get a copy of ETKA!
Yup...the ETKA will have US and Canadian parts in it.

Their part numbers are VW partnumbers. But it's a bit cumbersome to search their site based ondescriptions, keywords, etc.
Ok, you stumped me...What is ETKA??
I did a search on Google, but all I got was German Sites!!

The ETKA is the program that the VW dealers use to look up part numbers. You can find bootleg copies on the internet or ebay sometimes. There use to be a Russian (no copywrite laws) autoparts website that use to have it as well but I have lost the address. Anyone still have that?
