I have faulty pump. Power to it but no noise from it no fuel out of it. Checked output before filter in case it was blocked still nothing. Metered up pump moter it is open circuit suggesting it is knackered. Indeed have had problem with the engine surging at idle before this. Have undone access plate and reached into tank as per haynes manual. They say lift out pump and associated fuel level device and fuel pump housing. Lift out? However, it is attached to the bottom of the fuel tank somehow. Any ideas how to get it out. Tried pulling quite hard but does seem to budge. Is there anything to undo? Is pump housing located on any mounting/bush. Not possible to take pump out of housing through the access hole just too fiddly.
