I have a 1984 GTI Rabbit, the front struts are blown out and the drivers side inner tire rod has lots of play.
So I am going to replace the entire tie rod assembly and both struts.
My questions is the order of the work.
Should I replace the struts then do the tie rod, or do the tie rod while the struts are out of the car?
I guess if I do the tie rod with the struts the car will be on jackstands, and if I do the tie rod with the struts on I have the option to have the car on ramps. Any other things to consider with respect to changing the tie rod?
