Where was this ad picture taken?

If anyone's interested...On page 57 of the March 4, 2004 issue of Rolling Stone magazine, a Passat advertisment features an old neighborhood theater.

It's the Balboa Theater in San Francisco. The picture has been altered so that the "L" in Balboa is an "O" so that the theater cannot be identified. Also, the sign for "Kim's Restaurant" might actually be "Kam's Restaurant."

I figured out that this might be SF by the trolley wires suspended over the street. You can find several pictures of the Balboa on the internet and compare features. The power line pole to the right of the theater is easily distinguishable in photos of the front of the theater.
