97 GMC Suburban won' start (sometimes)

I have a 97 GMC Suburban with about 290K miles on it, but, have taken good care of it and still looks new. Just recently started having a problem with re-starting after a +/-15 mile ride. If I get right back in it, the engine cranks with plenty of verocity, but doese not start. This truck has had its share of fuel pump problems, but, had a new one installed just 1 year ago and also replaced the filter at that time. My mechanic felt that the logical first choice was to replace the fuel pump solenoid, since that has never been done and after checking fuel pressure at the rail and finally duplicating the problem; no fuel pressure. The solenoid was replaced and drove the truck home. Tried to leave 10 minutes later and it would not start. Same problem. After an hour or so, got in the truck and started just fine..runs like a champ.

Can a fuel pump have an intermittent problem? Can it malfunction after the pump get warmed up? But I would think that if that were the case, it would just leave me stranded? Any suggestions would really be appreciated.
