CD player fault.

I cannot get my cd player to work. I have tried pressing the button to eject the cartridge which has the cd's in it and it just makes a whirring sound and stops. I am certain it was working when I bought it
a few days ago. Any ideas anyone? It is a 2000 540 Tourer. pete

See my recent message. Try giving it a thump.

Try sliding a credit card down the side of the cartridge. Read about it here - worked for me last week.

I will give that a go thanks. The car is still under guarantee but the garage is 50 miles away so I do not want to go there if I can fix it myself. pete

My head unit display shows "magazine error". I had a look at the mag and I think a CD (the lowest) is partially extended into the player section. It looks that way to me. Does anyone have a fix I can try? Pushing the eject button in the changer does nothing. TIA
I had the same problem. I just gave the unit a thump and it released itself. pete
