1992 Silverado shakes at about 45mph

We have a 92 Silverado that shakes or shimmy's at about 45mph when accelerating.

What might cause this?? I don't want to start just replacing stuff. I'll probably take it by the shop and have the tires rotated and balanced, but I don't think that's the cause.

I also plan to double check the U-Joints, but is there anything else that might cause this, that I should look into?

Thanks in advance, Brian

I forgot to add that this seems to go away once about 50-55mph is hit or you stop accelerating.

If 4x4, lock up of the rear drive shaft by not lubing the spline shaft...

Lube the rear drive shaft splines with GM 'slippery grease' or install

the $150 Nickel plated slip yoke.. Just a guess... I do this yearly..

Sorry, this is a 2 wheel drive C1500 longbed with a 350 auto trans. Probably should have stated that, but I'll try to lube things up, when I check the drive shaft.

I did drive the truck today and didn't notice the vibration at all, or just very slightly, but I was hauling some weight and took it pretty easy. Would the rear axle cause anything like this??

Start with the basics, motor mounts and tranny mounts, wheel balance since you say its speed sensitive. U-joints, bent drive shaft or missing weight on drive shaft.
