Hi folks,
1991 S10, small V6, 5spd, AC
1) Occaisionally the *Service Engine Soon* light comes on and stays on for maybe 5 mins and then goes off. This truck is routinely serviced and when the light comes on all the gauges seem alright and I hear no strange noises. This has been going on for about a year. I have noticed the exhaust getting a little louder but not very much. Whats going on here, is a sensor going bad?
2) About once every 2 months or so the battery is dead, won't start. My driveway is sloped so I can usually just kickstart it then there is no further incident for another 2 months. The current battery is about 3 months old but tonight it was dead. When I try to start it the dome light dims. About a year ago my wife told me she heard a buzzing coming from the truck, I checked and it seemed the fuel pump in the tank was running though the truck was turned off. So I started it back up then turned it off and the buzzing ceased. Could it be that the fuel pump is sticking and I'm not noticing it and this is draining the battery? Thanks.
