94 Suburban - Accessories Remain On?

Looking for some direction as to where to start first on my '94 K1500 Suburban with 78k miles. This vehicle is rarely driven anymore, less than

1500 miles in past year. I recently noticed that with the ignition off (yes it is off and not in accessory), that the radio will remain on and the power windows will remain operative. The vehicle is old enough to not have the retained accessory power feature. I also noticed that sometimes the radio will shut off with the ignition off, but if I slam a door the radio may come on and if I slam a door again the radio may go off. I have made it a habit to manually turn off the radio to avoid a dead battery away from home, otherwise when covered and sitting in the garage, I usually have the battery hooked to a "Battery Tender" since the vehicle isn't driven enough to maintain a healthy charge.

Again, looking for some ideas to look at if anyone else has experienced such a problem. Thanks!

Gary, I'd take a look at the bottom of the steering column. There is an actuator rod that runs from your key down to a (Can't think of the proper word) switch. This is your electronics for the ignition. Sounds like that switch is not right. Either gummed up and not working correctly or just plain going bad. The shaking of the cab when you shut the door would effect that also. I had a similar issue with my 78 Chevy. Looked at everything I could think of then stumbled on the bad switch. (It finally snapped!). Good luck!
