Re: Any S10 Amateur radio guys?

Wondered what kind of antennas, how you wired for power etc.

> > thanks

I use a 40 meter beam on the cab roof. Power comes from solar cells, which are wired directly into the radio.

The guy with the 40 meter beam on the roof is probably a no code tech , or one of those guys that has had his tech license for 15 years and is now an extra class.

Oy, the CW debate comes to alt.trucks.chevy

But did you take a "solid copy" 20 wpm or a "multiple guess" 20 wpm?

I passed the solid copy 20 WPM 2 times before I made extra

I passed my 20wpm when I sat for my technician class , my CSCE lapsed before I made it to extra, I got tripped up on the Advanced class so I had to take it again.

I apologize for bringing the CW debate to the Chevy truck news group.

I'm just having a hard time dealing with the dumbing down of amateur radio.

73 Ray, hope to C U on the band's sometime, good luck in the pile up's

Well we know where Pepe's Head is don't we.

Maybe he ought to talk to the many Red Cross and Emergency Organizations about hams assistance during major emergencies.

Most of your major developements of wireless devices, started out as experiments by hams.

I think you'd better rethink that.

I'm not a ham radio operator, but I know several and they are some of the best and most resourceful people I have ever met. Not to mention that in emergencies they may provide the only means of communications...

Hey....wait.....it's....no....it can't be?!!

Nah....he's gotta be dead 'n' gone...

Hehe...... I copied 20 wpm one time in my life. Then cleaned up the copy enough to answer the questions on the test. Mike, AF4WY

Wonder who pissed in his Wheaties? He sounds like a CBer who got caught running a linear amp because of all splatter it puts out if not tuned correctly. He oughta listen to the ham bands when all other methods of communication go away. Here in NC during Hurricane Fran, ham radio was the ONLY way the Govenor could communicate with the coastal areas. Oh well, you can't argue with a closed mind.
