Freelander (2000) and amateur radio antenna

Hi,



I have a year 2000 landrover freelander and I am planning to install an FT-857 with seperate whip style antennas for 2/70 and HF, I could do with some advice re the installation and would appreciate some help.



What mounting brackets are most suitable for 3/8 or pl259 antennas, and most suitable installation point



recommended antennas



Any issues with RF



Any good general do's and don'ts on the actual installation



All help appreciated

I am actually more in a quandary of how to mount the antennas on the freelander without having to drill the bodywork. I am probably going to have to mount on the spare wheel bracket in some way, was really hoping someone in this group had already got the 'T' shirt.
