Charging Barreries when cars laid up

Hi,

I understand that there is a trickle charger that you can get that will keep a battery charged when it is not in use. Can anyone advise a source?

They tend to be stupidly expensive for what they are - basically just a low current wall wart with simple electronics. So about a tenner should really be the cost.

Gunson do a fully automatic charger for about the same price which will act like a normal charger and re-charge a flat battery overnight - but also goes to a maintenance charge so can be left connected indefinitely.

This is one source - but places like Halfords sell them too.

I refuse to buy anything from Halfords.

Go to Partco or TMS or any other motor factor, and you'll save pounds.

(The only thing that Halfords do well is their professional tool range, which i believe are made by Sykes Pickavant anyway. I went ahead and bought SP stuff anyway, especially the sockets). J.
