Ignition lock barrel removal

Any idea how to remove the ignition lock barrel from a BMW (1991 316)? Apologies for being slightly off topic, but you've never failed me before! This is the car I'm scrapping. I've been listing bits on Ebay where the world and its dog seems to be after the ignition lock. Trouble is, I can't figure out how to remove the damned thing. There's a small hole next to the keyhole. I've tried pushing in a small Allen key and turning the ignition key to different positions hoping the barrel will suddenly come loose, but with no luck so far. Any ideas?

So I take it they're just after the barrel, not the whole lock assembly. Why not saw/drill/snap the assembly off the steering column and let the buyer figure it out?

Or are you planning on selling the whole column separately, with just the lock barrel removed?

Good thinking, thanks! I guess I've been a bit too gentle with the whole car so far, undoing bolts instead of wading in with a "gas axe". Mind you, I managed to drain 8 gallons of petrol out of the tank, so too much haste could have been bad news.

I'd probably have given it a go, but wasn't expecting much for it.
