Yeah, Passats get crappy gas milage. OH WAIT, the 2008 Passat TDI thanks to Variable turbine geometry helps increase power without sacrificing efficiency, resulting in the BEST FUEL ECONOMY of ANY 3500lbs+ car IN THE WORLD.
So much for your stupid opinion.

The European version of the Passat TDI is listed at 44 MPG highway and that's way better than the Camry and Accord Gasoline Electric Hybrids, and lightyears beyond primitive American cars like the Fusion and Malibu. The Germans are just technologically way more advanced than the Americans. They made the first jet aircraft, they made the first ballistic missile, and they made the Mclaren F1's engine back WELL WELL over a decade ago and yet it's superior to any production American engine even to this day.

Not particularly entertaining to drive......capable.......
Stick to your GT4 racing, poser. :)

What what do you expect, a 3500lbs car with a 138 BHP Diesel engine is not MEANT to be entertaining to drive, it's meant to save money at the pump. And the Fuel Economy is right SMACK IN THE MIDDLE of the page under "KEY SPECS", and ofcourse you must have vision problems to think that it wasn't on the page or that American cars look good. Here's a screencap for those who couldn't make it to the web site.

It's a stinking diesel numnuts.

They aren't stinking diesels either,

And cost a bunch more then them while stinking up your garage and not starting in the winter just to remind you how stupid you were for buying one.

Hardly, just another urban myth. Americans are more innovative. Germans seem to build more rube-Goldberg engines, hardly very durable. To many expensive parts that need replacing causes them to get scrapped as junk.

They also made the first one to get shot down by American fighters. Seems the Mustangs shot a lot of german engineering out of the sky, on their own turf no less!
they made the first ballistic

Yep, but America didn't need one at the time, so when it was over, we just took theirs.
and they made the Mclaren F1's engine back WELL WELL over a

Unfortunately the fact remains, the Callaway Corvette went faster with a more durable engine. And that was done nearly twenty years ago. And the engine design it was based on still collects engineering awards. So your claim of "superior" is pretty much a joke.
Yep Sal, you really are a piece of work. Your shoulders must get tired of holding up your butt cheeks.

The Callaway Corvette is not considered a production car. How many Callaway Corvettes were made? CALLAWAY Corvettes are VERY SLOW as even ELECTRIC cars in the NON- Production Car Category are faster. The Thrust SST is also in the Non-Production Car Category to show you how slow a Callaway Corvette is in ITS CATEGORY. Brinign up the Callaway Corvette is even stupider than brining up a VDUB like this

I'm sure that the top speed is still shockingly low for the power given the Corvette's horrible horsepower to top speed ratio.

First of all that's a 2008 car while the Passat W8 is a 2002 car. That being said, for the price of that car, you could easily achieve a higher top speed than that corvette by installing a powerful supercharger, cold air intake, performance exhaust, chip tuning with 110 octane program, and hell for the price of that corvette, you could also throw in a HPA GOLF V transmission in there for that price, and EASILY beat that corvette. This video shows an OLD Passat V6 as old as a C4 Corvette. For th same price as a C4 Corvette this Passat can do 200 MPH+. Now that was a 135 MPH car so imagine what a 2002 174 MPH stock car like the W8 would do with those kind of mods? If the 2008 W8 existed, it would do 200 MPH STOCK, and with mods to equal the price of that highly modified Corvette, it could do 256 MPH.

Maybe. In a straight line only. Until the engine blew up from being so overboosted, which I doubt would take very long.

I don't know why my video didn't show up. This is a B4 V6 Passat which is of comprable age to the C4 Corvette. Now this is a 135 MPH V6 Passat modified into a 200 MPH car for less than the total price of a C4 Corvette. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/d08a991f-45c4-412d-af56-995600b1b687.htm The 2002 Passat W8 can easily be modified into a 210-225 MPH car. If there was a 2008 Passat W8, it would do 200 MPH STOCK, and could be modified into a 255-260MPH car easily for less than the price of the upcoming Corvette SS.
