i bought this neon and the prev. owner said he put a water pump on and then it wouldnt start.i think he put the timing belt on wrong by not lining anything up.where should the crank cam and other marks be pointing?
All at top dead center!! You would have to pull the covers off to see the markings. Also keep in mind that if the cam gear was not tightened down and the owner tried to start the engine he may have sheared off the key in the cam. And when you look at the marks everything still looks aligned up.
